Manager for Pilersitsivik Ilulissat

Avannaata Municipality, Pilersitsivik Ilulissat is seeking a leader with skills in the craft profession - employment starting on February 1, 2026, or by further agreement.

We are looking for a subject teacher with skills in workshop work who can also take on a leadership role. The person must be able to take responsibility for planning, coordination, and daily management of Pilersitsivik. Employment from February 1, 2026, or by further agreement.

Pilersitsivik

Pilersitsivik is a new program in Avannaata Municipality since 2025. The program is aimed at young people who have not yet started their education or employment and offers a non-academic course with a strong emphasis on personal development. Pilersitsivik provides students with opportunities for work in the kitchen, in a creative space, and in the workshop. The purpose of the school stay is to prepare students for education or employment after the completion of the program.

Work and areas of responsibility:

·Plan and execute creative activities and projects, including excursions.

·Responsibility for two employees in Pilersitsivik.

A candidate who can teach workshop skills is preferred.

Motivational conversations and activities.

·Help the students based on their situation, including supporting them in starting their education or work.

·Outreach work and contact with various companies/educational institutions for the purpose of collaboration

Develop the position in collaboration with other employees at Majoriaq.

We expect you to actively participate in the daily operations of Pilersitsvik and distribute tasks so that the students experience an understanding of the tasks and develop a sense of responsibility.

Qualifications:

• Is educated in the crafts industry or similar.
• Has pedagogical understanding of young people with challenges.
• Wants to work for young people between 16-25 years old.
• Is diligent and punctual, and has no problems with alcohol and other substances.
• Is bilingual, Greenlandic and Danish, but it is not a requirement.

You should consider the possibility of further education in the field, especially during the pedagogical basic education and the counseling education.

Salary and employment conditions:

The employment will take place according to the applicable collective agreement for leaders within the agreement between the Government of Greenland and SIK, or employment according to the AK functional agreement.
