Translation Manager

Would you like to help ensure the quality of Greenland's most read journalism – in Greenlandic, Danish, and English?

At Mediehuset Sermitsiaq, we are looking for a skilled and dedicated translation manager who is passionate about language, quality, and leadership.

As the translation manager, you will play a crucial role in our editorial work. You will be responsible for ensuring that our journalism is translated correctly, consistently, and linguistically strong across Greenlandic, Danish, and English. At the same time, you will lead our translation department with responsibility for three employees.

Your primary areas of responsibility

• Lead and develop the translation department.
• Ensure high linguistic quality in all translations between Greenlandic, Danish, and English.
• Even participate actively in the daily translation work.
• Plan the department's staffing, work distribution, and duty schedules.
• Collaboration closely with the editor-in-chief, editors, and journalists to ensure clear, accurate, and readable language in our publications.
• Contribute to the development of linguistic standards and quality assurance across the entire media house.
• Drive the development and implementation of AI-based translation tools and ensure that new technologies are used responsibly and effectively without compromising quality.

• Masters Greenlandic and Danish at a high level – both orally and in writing. English is an advantage.
• Has solid experience in translation and linguistic quality assurance.
• Has good leadership skills or a desire to develop as a leader.
• Is structured and can plan tasks and resources effectively.
• Thrives with responsibility and can maintain an overview in a day-to-day life with deadlines.
• Is curious about new technology and motivated to develop the translation processes of the future using artificial intelligence.
