A position as an interpreter at the Ombudsman in Greenland is available for appointment from August 1, 2026, or by further agreement.
Work tasks
We are looking for an interpreter for work on translation tasks within the family and personal law area, as well as translation of legislation from Danish sector authorities.
You will be involved in close collaboration with the chief interpreter of the embassy and external interpreters, whose products you will also need to quality assure.
There will also be opportunities for other tasks within the areas of the embassy.

Qualifications
It is a requirement that you have completed an interpreting education or have equivalent qualifications. Experience in translating complex texts, including preferably legislation, is a significant advantage.
We expect you to be an experienced user of the Office suite. It is also an advantage if you have experience working independently and disciplined in an ESDH system. Training in the ESDH of the embassy will take place at the start of employment.
As we are a small institution with 16 employees, it is important that you are reliable, flexible, and willing to take on other tasks related to the operation and functions of the office.
Employment terms
Salary and employment conditions are determined in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, the Employee and Competence Agency, and the Association of Greenlandic Interpreters and the relevant negotiating organization. It is a condition of employment that you can obtain security clearance.
Housing can be allocated in the rental properties of the Government of Greenland according to the rules applicable at any given time. Rent is paid according to the applicable rules. Travel expenses for arrival and departure, as well as moving allowances, are provided to the employee and their family in accordance with the provisions of the agreement.
