Qeqqata Municipality is seeking a technical employee for the Planning Department in Sisimiut. The position requires experience with GIS and digital municipal planning. You will assist the planning manager with technical tasks, including the preparation of GIS maps and the development of 3D models. Knowledge of urban and landscape planning is an advantage.
We are looking for a strong technical profile with GIS experience for our Planning Department to manage and develop our new digital municipal plan 2024-48 and other ongoing planning and land tasks in the department. The existing municipal plan needs to be adapted and renewed according to modern needs and the latest changes in planning legislation. You will assist the planning manager with exciting technical planning tasks, primarily the adaptation and development of our digital municipal plan, with a particular focus on the preparation and maintenance of GIS maps in connection with municipal and local planning. The Planning Department is responsible for the management and planning of the municipality's physical development in towns, villages, and the large open countryside. Additionally, there are a number of ongoing administrative planning and land tasks. The Planning Department is a small team within the Technical and Environmental Department and consists of a planning manager and two land caseworkers. The Technical and Environmental management consists of 16 employees with diverse professional tasks. The Planning Department works closely with other areas of the management, such as building case authority, environment, construction, and operations. Furthermore, the Planning Department manages the municipality's heritage buildings and areas and is responsible for the municipality's architectural considerations.
Work and areas of responsibility:

Assist the planning manager with the development and updating of the digital municipal plan, including local and municipal plans, sub-plans, and other strategic plans.

Preparation of GIS maps for municipal and local plans.

Collection and processing of data in connection with citizen involvement and plans.

Be involved in preparing reports, notes, and case presentations in close collaboration with the planning manager.

Manage announcements, hearings, and publications, etc.

Contribute to strengthening the department's development of technical 3D urban and landscape models.

Assist the land case processing during periods as needed.
Qualifications:
-
You have a relevant education as an engineer, architect, geographer, or IT-related GIS education.

You have good knowledge and experience with mapping in GIS.

You have technical flair and a digital mindset.

You are meticulous and systematic.

Well-formulated in Danish and preferably Greenlandic.

Knowledge of urban and landscape planning and the planning law is an advantage, but not a requirement.

You can collaborate with your employees, your manager, the political level, and external partners, and you understand how to build relationships that form the foundation for good cooperation.

You are structured and can work independently on long-term tasks.

Knowledge of Office, Adobe, and preferably AutoCAD and 3ds Max.
Salary and employment conditions: Salary and employment relations are in accordance with the agreements and collective agreements in force at any given time between the Government of Greenland and your negotiating organization.
The technical employee is administratively located in Sisimiut and organized under the planning manager.
