Avannaata Municipality is seeking an engaged and structured coordinator who can ensure coherent and coordinated efforts for children, young people, and families across the Children's House and Family Center, with employment starting on March 1, 2026, or by further agreement.
About the position
As a coordinator, you will play a central role in working with children and young people in vulnerable positions – including children exposed to violence and sexual abuse. You must ensure an overview, coherence, and quality in case processes, as well as support collaboration between internal and external actors.
The position is located in the Family Center and has a close collaboration with the Children's House, the authority area, police, healthcare, schools, and other relevant partners.
Your primary tasks

Coordinate case closures across the Children's House and Family Center

Plan and facilitate case consultations, admission meetings, and treatment conferences.

Coordinate video interrogations in collaboration with the police.

Ensure coherence between crisis assistance, assessment, treatment, and follow-up.

Be a link between children, families, and involved professionals.

Ensure proper documentation and follow-up

Contribute to the development and quality assurance of workflows and procedures.

Support the management with coordinating and administrative tasks.
We expect that you

Has a relevant social education (e.g. social worker, educator, family therapist or equivalent)

Has experience with case coordination and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Has knowledge of working with vulnerable children and families – preferably in a Child House context.

Works in a structured manner, independently, and has a good overview.

Is clear in your communication and can create collaboration across professions and authorities.

Has an understanding of legislation, documentation, and professional standards in the child and family sector.

Salary and employment conditions
This position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin once the Municipality has obtained a child certificate.
The child certificate will be part of the municipality's assessment of who is hired for the position.
Salary and employment conditions are primarily based on the agreement between the Government of Greenland (Greenland's Self-Government) and the negotiating organization.
Housing cannot be provided for the position.
