We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled director for the Department of Children and People with Disabilities in Kommune Kujalleq. The role involves daily management, planning, and improvement of services for children and individuals with disabilities, ensuring their rights and service delivery in collaboration with the government.
The Government of Kommune Kujalleq is looking for a committed and skilled director for the Department of Children and People with Disabilities. As a director, you will be responsible for daily management, operations, and planning within the areas of children and people with disabilities, ensuring implementation and improvements. This work will be conducted in close collaboration with the government to ensure the rights and services for citizens and the daily operations of the Department of Children and People with Disabilities. You will report directly to the Director of the Department for Children and Youth.
Key responsibilities include:

Ensuring planning, implementation, and improvement of tasks within the Department of Children and People with Disabilities.

Ensuring initiatives in the social sector are based on evidence and comply with current legislation.

Ensuring the quality of services offered to children, youth, and individuals with disabilities.

Responsibility for budgeting, implementation, and legal compliance within the areas of children, youth, and individuals with disabilities. Effective resource management and cost optimization without compromising quality.

Establishing and maintaining good relations with citizens, interest groups, professional associations, and other municipal sectors through collaboration.

Participating in cross-sectoral collaboration with other authorities and the Department for Children and Youth.

Leading middle managers within the sector and ensuring employee well-being, motivation, and skill development.
Professional qualifications:

Relevant educational background, such as social sciences, social work, or public administration.

Experience in management within the social sector.

Strong financial management skills.

Proficiency in both Danish and Greenlandic.
Personal qualifications:

Excellent communication skills and broad collaboration abilities.

Energetic, trustworthy, and capable of maintaining personal integrity.

Highly motivated and capable of making decisions in complex situations.
