The Mineral Authority's Department for Technology & Supervision is looking for technical-administrative profiles. Are you ready for an exciting challenge in a rapidly developing sector? We are seeking two new colleagues for the Department for Technology & Supervision under Greenland's mineral authority.
About the position
The work with us is a combination of operational tasks and cross-cutting development tasks, which are solved in close collaboration with other authorities, consultants, and raw material companies. You will play a central role in case processing and technical assessments across the raw materials sector and will help ensure that the exploration and exploitation of raw materials take place in a responsible and safe manner.
The position involves dialogue with both national and international actors and will include a certain amount of meeting and travel activity related to mine inspection work.

Your primary work tasks Case processing of applications regarding exploration, mining, and other raw material activities

Supervision of issued approvals and ongoing activities

Technical assessments of investigative activities, operational plans, and safety conditions

Contribution to the development of procedures, guidelines, and cross-authority collaborations

Dialogue and coordination with companies, advisors, and authorities both domestically and internationally.
Your profile
We imagine that you have a technical, engineering, or academic background in areas such as the mining industry, construction and civil engineering, safety and working environment, natural sciences, or public administration.

In addition, we emphasize that you: are good at collaborating and working project-oriented across disciplines.

can communicate clearly in both Danish and English, in speech and writing

has a flair for IT tools, especially Microsoft Office and Teams

preferably has experience with journal systems, knowledge sharing databases, or GIS
It is an advantage if you have knowledge of the raw materials sector, license administration, or public administration.
Knowledge of the Greenlandic language and culture is a great advantage. For applicants outside Greenland, we place a high value on the ability and desire to work under different cultural conditions.
About the department
The department is part of the Ministry of Business, Minerals, Energy, Justice, and Gender Equality and is part of Greenland's Self-Government mineral authority. We are based in Nuuk and consist of five employees. We work closely with, among others, the Licensing Department, the Geological Department, and the Environmental Agency for Minerals.
The raw material authority administers approximately 140 raw material permits nationwide, including mining and exploration permits, scientific permits, and local raw material activities such as quarries and sand suction.
Start as soon as possible. However, we are happy to wait for the right candidate.
The working hours are primarily 40 hours a week. The raw materials industry is seasonal, and fluctuating work pressure can be expected during the peak season.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation travel and moving of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
