The Department for Preventive Initiatives and Counseling is a municipal service that works with support, counseling, and preventive measures for children, young people, and families. The work is based on early intervention, family preservation efforts, and holistic solutions focusing on strengthening well-being, development, and relationships.
The department consists of professional staff with various competencies who work closely together to create holistic solutions and a safe collaboration with families. Emphasis is placed on respectful dialogue, relationship building, and preventive support.
The purpose of the work in the department is to strengthen the well-being and development of families through preventive and supportive measures, as well as to contribute to ensuring that children and young people have the best possible conditions for growing up.
The positions are full-time positions reporting to the Department Manager for Preventive Efforts and Counseling.

The content of the position:
We are looking for experienced practitioners to engage in preventive and family-oriented work and to carry out a number of tasks including:

Treatment and support programs for children, young people, and families

Relationship and motivation work with families
-
Early detection and preventive measures
-
Preparation of action plans and documentation
-
Interdisciplinary collaboration with internal and external partners
-
Participation in meetings, networking, and coordination

Ad hoc tasks
The tasks are carried out in close collaboration with the department's other employees as well as relevant partners such as schools, daycare institutions, the healthcare system, and social authorities.
Expectations for applicants:

Relevant social education as a social worker, educator, or other relevant education.

Experience with family therapy, relational work, or preventive social work is an advantage.

Experience with interdisciplinary collaboration and documentation work

Professional insight into the well-being and development of children, young people, and families.

Criminal and Child Certificate:
This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
Housing:
No housing can be provided for the position.
