Chief Financial Officer

If you want to improve financial management in public Greenland even further, Qeqqata Municipality has a position available as Chief Financial Officer.

The CFO must be able to handle both large and small numbers and, not least, be ready for a transition process with the upcoming new financial system and IT systems.

The finance area includes the Payroll Office, Accounting Department, and Bookkeeping.

We wish for the Chief Financial Officer to prioritize cross-cutting and coherent initiatives in a flexible organization, which should help ensure financial management and accounting understanding within the organization.

The position is administratively located in Sisimiut and organizationally reports to the Director of Finance.

Work and areas of responsibility:

Ensure coordination and appropriate financial management for Qeqqata Municipality.

Ensure the implementation of a new joint public ERP system and payroll system.

Ensure the development of long-term economic strategies

Ensure the professional administrative and managerial operations in the Area of Economics, which consists of accounting, payroll office, and accounting department.

Professional advisor to the management in the field of Economics

Prepare annual report and quarterly reports for the Committee for Economy and the Municipal Council.

Member of the municipality's management team

Be part of ensuring employee well-being and environment

and ensure that the budget is kept within the allocated framework and coordinate case presentations for the Economic Committee as well as participate in the committee meetings.

Qualifications:

You have a relevant economic/administrative education.

You have leadership experience from the public and/or private sector.

You can collaborate with your employees, your manager, the political level, and external partners.

You are structured, have analytical skills, and can communicate simply and precisely.

You are an open, positive, and casual person who enjoys a good laugh.

Natural authority and dynamism. A visible leader

You are good at collaborating and influencing your surroundings.

You have experience with or the willingness to develop the finance area.

You can work purposefully in a dual cultural environment.

You have experience with financial management and structuring.

You are preferably multilingual, Greenlandic, Danish, and English.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to free travel and relocation of personal belongings, are in accordance with the applicable agreements between the Government of Greenland and the negotiating organization at any given time.

Housing can be provided for the position, for which payment is made according to applicable regulations.

Criminal record:

This position is subject to the law requiring a criminal record check. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the police.

Commencement on March 1, 2026, or by agreement.
