The Department of Finance and Taxes, as the national planning authority, plays a key role in ensuring that political visions in the planning area become a reality. The department works on the development of national planning interests, legislation and regulations in the planning area, guidance for municipalities, handling of complaints, and further development of a planning register.

Coordination and collaboration with the municipalities on planning

Preparation of guidelines and advising municipalities on physical planning and land management.

Handling of complaints regarding municipal decisions

Legislative preparatory work and rule development

Coordination with our partner regarding the development and operation of digital tools and frameworks for land administration.

About you

You have a relevant higher education and preferably some years of experience. A skilled and dedicated recent graduate may also be considered. We value: Theoretical and practical knowledge of planning is desirable, but not a requirement.

Experience or interest in case handling, including complaint case handling
-
structured approach, but flexibility in a daily life with changing priorities

Good communication skills both written and oral (preferably also Greenlandic)
-
team spirit and ability to collaborate broadly with other professional groups

willing to have knowledge of Greenlandic culture and societal conditions
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
Salary and employment conditions
The working hours are 40 hours per week.
Salary and employment conditions, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The position is primarily aimed at an AC graduate. If an applicant has sufficient relevant experience and professional qualifications for employment as a specialist or chief consultant, employment as a specialist or chief consultant may be considered.
Civil servants in the state and employees under a number of AC agreements, including the agreement between DJØF and the Ministry of Finance, have the right to unpaid leave in connection with employment under the Government of Greenland. The Ministry of Interior has also urged municipalities and regions to be accommodating towards applications for unpaid leave for employment under the Government of Greenland. The provisions regarding unpaid leave also include spouses/partners of individuals employed under the Government of Greenland.

The department is located in Nuuk, Greenland's capital.
