Teacher for Grade 4

We are looking for an engaged teacher for Grade 4 at Atuarfik Inussuk, a dynamic school in development focused on 21st-century skills. You will be part of a close team collaboration and contribute to a positive learning environment. The position requires a teaching degree and strong relational skills.

The school

You will become part of a school with approximately 1,000 students ranging from 1st to 10th grade and with 9 special classes. We are a brand new school in development, and in the coming years, we will have a strong focus on 21st-century skills, project-based learning, teamwork, quality development, and enhancing students' academic levels. Until the end of the school year 2025/2026, the school is located in various locations and expects to move into the new school in August 2026.

The school's vision is to create students who can be creative, collaborative, think critically, have digital literacy, possess good communication skills, and can work interdisciplinary.

The school's vision for learning environments is to increase professionalism, stimulate learning and well-being for each individual, support a different kind of learning than the traditional, and create a teaching environment where we start from each student's needs and inspire the student to learn.

The school currently consists of 92 employees distributed across 4 departments, namely 1st-3rd grade, 4th-7th grade, 8th-10th grade, and a special department. We are currently looking for a teacher for grade 4 who will provide one-on-one instruction and has the right and specific competencies. We are looking for a teacher who can teach most subjects and "thinks outside the box."

One must be prepared for close teamwork with the other teachers in the team and in the department, as well as having close contact with parents.

Criminal and Child Certificate:

The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police as well as the criminal record from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the person involved, while the criminal record is obtained by the person from the police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

A staff housing can be provided for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the Government of Greenland and the municipality's properties in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to temporary housing will be offered a temporary accommodation, for which rent, utilities, etc. will be paid in accordance with the above. The start date is dependent on when a staff accommodation is available. A relocation travel allowance and moving of personal belongings will be provided in accordance with applicable regulations.
