In the Department for Children, Youth, Justice, and Gender Equality, we focus on strengthening the conditions for children, young people, and families and work to achieve the political goals in the sector. If you want to help elevate the area, the position as an AC officer with communication responsibilities in the Department might be something for you.
The tasks in the department include, among other things, the development of strategies and action plans in the areas of children, youth, and disabilities, servicing the political level in the form of notes, reports, etc., as well as various project and development tasks. As a communications officer, you will play a central role in conveying the initiatives of Naalakkersuisut and the department to citizens, partners, and the media.
The position falls under the management secretariat. The management secretariat is an attractive and professional workplace with a high level of ambition. Daily life in the management secretariat is varied and professionally challenging, where things sometimes move quickly and tasks must be solved under time pressure. It is rare for two days to be alike.
The management secretariat handles the political servicing; in addition, the management secretariat is responsible for servicing the department's top management and the secretariat function.
About the position

Preparation of press releases, news, and communication materials about the initiatives and work of the Naalakkersuisut and the department.

Planning and coordination of internal and external communication

Updating and developing content for our part of the website

Preparation of proposals for the Government, background notes, response notes, answers to 37 questions, etc.

To lead or participate in investigations, evaluations, etc. in the social field.

Contribute to the quality assurance of notes, decision proposals, and similar documents.

To coordinate the collaboration with the Danish ministry

Facilitator at workshops, seminars, and official visits

Ensure coordination during the Inatsisartut sessions in collaboration with the rest of the department.

Coordinator for relevant systems used in the department.

HR function for the department's employees

Therefore, it is an advantage if you are responsible, adaptable, and collaborative. You should be interested in working in a politically governed organization where the pace is often very high and deadlines are short. You should be good at communicating, both in writing and verbally, and have the ability to understand complex relationships.

Has experience or knowledge in communication, public dissemination, project management, and process work.

Has knowledge of Greenlandic societal conditions and culture.

It is an advantage if you are proficient in Greenlandic, Danish, and English.
Our department in the Management Secretariat consists of about 6 employees who support the department's top management and contribute to efficient operations in close collaboration with the department's other divisions. We provide daily service across departments and handle, among other things, translations of tasks.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving and relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Housing
No housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the assigned housing is retained. The housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
