A maternity leave position as Center Leader for Majoriaq in Ilulissat is available from May 15, 2026. Majoriaq is a job, guidance, and upskilling center that works with educational and labor market activities. The Center Leader is responsible for the development, planning, and coordination of employment and rehabilitation efforts in collaboration with caseworkers.
Majoriaq is a job, guidance, and upskilling center that handles a wide range of educational and advisory tasks in collaboration with businesses, schools, educational institutions, other municipalities, vocational schools, and the Government of Greenland.
Majoriaq works, among other things, with upskilling, resource courses, communication, and registration of unemployed and sick-listed citizens. Majoriaq is also responsible for creating development within education and labor market activities as well as for guidance aimed at individuals who cannot immediately be admitted to vocational training or are in a process.
The center leader creates responsibility for the development, planning, and coordination of employment and rehabilitation efforts in close collaboration with the caseworkers.
A person is sought who, in collaboration with the business community, vocational schools, and the Self-Government in Avannaata Municipality, will lead Majoriaq Ilulissat, which is still under development.
The content of the position:
·Daily management of the staff at Majoriaq Ilulissat
To ensure a strengthening of the labor market and education efforts in the city in close collaboration with workplaces and educational institutions.
To ensure that the established frameworks and strategies are followed, including the performance contract with the municipality.
·Responsibility for daily financial operations, including the preparation of accounting notes, budget management, and other tasks within this field.
·Staff responsibility, including absence registration, upskilling/training, well-being conversations, etc.
As essential prerequisites, we expect you to:

Has a theoretical, academically grounded education.

Has knowledge of the legislation within the labor market and education sector.

Is bilingual (Danish/Greenlandic) and has good language skills in both speech and writing.
·Has experience from a similar position and thus has management experience.

Is proactive and eager to participate in the development of Majoriaq.
·Enthusiasm, overview, and good collaboration skills.

Can use IT tools at the user level.

Do not have problems with alcohol and narcotic drugs.
We offer:
A maternity cover from May 15, 2026, or by agreement until March 6, 2027.
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the negotiating organization.
No free relocation travel or reimbursement for moving belongings from the hometown is provided according to current regulations. This also does not include accompanying spouse/partner or children under 18 years.
Housing is not provided in connection with the employment, and the employee must therefore arrange for housing themselves.
Employment is subject to a satisfactory criminal record and child protection certificate. These can be attached to the application; otherwise, they will be obtained by Avannaata Municipality after authorization from the applicant at the National Police.
