Avannaata Municipality is looking for a pedagogue / preschool teacher who will have a position at Atuarfik Mathias Storch, Ilulissat, from September 15, 2026, or by further agreement.

Atuarfik Mathias Storch is one of the city's two schools with approximately 390 students and 56 employees. Atuarfik Mathias Storch is a modern school, located with a beautiful view and equipped with modern facilities. Atuarfik Mathias Storch is a school in development and has the motto "School for everyone."

The nearest supervisor of the employee will be the school principal.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Teach in the "Nukaaka center," which is a special department for the schools AMS and AJB.

We expect you to be:

• A pedagogue, preferably with teaching experience.

• Responsible, active, and engaged.

• Have good physical and mental health.

• Able to work consistently

• Able to see opportunities rather than limitations

• Motivated to participate in a flexible and development-oriented school environment

• Open to new teaching methods.

• Able to use and has good experience with iPad.

Salary and employment:

Salary and employment conditions will be in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Naalakkersuisut and the negotiating organization at the time of commencement.

Applicants coming from a civil servant position will retain the right to this form of employment.

No housing will be provided.

Salary and employment conditions will be in accordance with the applicable agreements between the Government of Greenland and the Teachers' Union for Children’s Schools, IMAK, at the time of commencement.

Employment is conditional upon a satisfactory public criminal record and child certificate, which will be obtained by the employer from the National Police with the consent of the applicant who is recommended for employment.
