Part-time Teacher for Atuarfik Mathias Storch Ilulissat

Avannaata Municipality is looking for part-time teachers who will have a position at Atuarfik Mathias Storch, Ilulissat, starting from September 14, 2026, or by further agreement.

Atuarfik Mathias Storch is one of the city's two schools with approximately 390 students and 56 staff members. Atuarfik Mathias Storch is a modern school located with a beautiful view and has modern equipment. Atuarfik Mathias Storch is a school in development and has the motto "School for all."

The nearest supervisor of the employee will be the school principal.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Teach in the middle grades

• Teach in the "Nukaaka center"

• Teach individual subjects across the grades

We expect that you are:

• An educator, trained in the social field, or have experience in teaching.

• Responsible, active, and engaged.

• Cooperative, welcoming, and stable.

• In good physical and mental health.

• Able to work reliably

• Able to see opportunities rather than limitations

• Motivated to participate in a flexible and development-oriented school environment

• Open to new teaching methods.

• Able to use and has good experience with iPad.

Salary and employment: Employment will be in accordance with the agreement between the Naalakkersuisut and Ilinniartitsisut Meeqqat Atuarfiannersut Kattuffiat, IMAK. Applicants coming from a civil servant position will retain the right to this form of employment.

No housing will be provided.

Salary and employment conditions will be in accordance with the agreements in effect at the time of commencement between the Greenlandic Government and Ilinniartitsisut Meeqqat Atuarfiannersut Kattuffiat, IMAK.

Employment is conditional upon a satisfactory public criminal record and child certificate, which will be obtained by the employer from the National Police with the consent of the applicant who is recommended for employment.
