Learning Consultant for the School Area Avannaata Municipality in Ilulissat
Do you want to help strengthen teaching and translate the municipality's goals for primary school into solutions that work in the schools' everyday life?
Avannaata Municipality is looking for a learning consultant who can support school leaders and teachers in the work with pedagogical development, quality, and implementation. You should be close to the schools' practice through dialogue and guidance, which can take place both through school visits and digitally. You will be part of the school area's professional team and play an important role in creating coherence between political decisions, the administration's work, and practice in the schools.
About the Position
The school area currently has many political objectives and development tasks. As a learning consultant, you will help translate them into realistic initiatives, clear workflows, and usable tools. You will follow the initiatives through in close collaboration with the head of the department, the school consultant, the school leaders, and the school's staff. The collaboration takes place from the administration, digitally, and through visits to the schools as needed.
The position focuses on learning and pedagogical development. Digital solutions should be used purposefully and based on a clear pedagogical value. You will, among other things, support remote teaching and contribute to the follow-up and evaluation of the schools' use of iPads and other digital tools.

You will be part of the professional team in the school area under the Administration for Culture, Schools, and Preschool. We work for the children and with each other, and we emphasize professionalism, responsibility, and collaboration across. You will also be part of the administration's overall staff group, which serves politicians, schools, daycare services, MISI Avannaa, and the municipality's citizens.
Your Most Important Tasks
• Support the implementation of political decisions and professional initiatives in the school area.
• Advise and guide school leaders and teachers on teaching, learning, and pedagogical development – both digitally and through school visits.
• Contribute to school visits in the municipality's towns and settlements and follow up on agreed initiatives.
• Plan and conduct competency development, workshops, and practice-oriented courses.
• Strengthen the schools' work with ongoing evaluation, documentation, and use of relevant data.
• Contribute to the development and coordination of remote teaching.
• Advise on a targeted use of digital tools, including iPads, where they provide clear pedagogical value – especially in connection with remote teaching.
• Prepare proposals, guidelines, and other professional materials and contribute to case processing and follow-up.
• Collaborate across schools, subject areas, and relevant external partners.
We Expect from You
• You are a trained teacher or have another relevant pedagogical education and preferably experience from primary school.
• You have an eye for both the schools' daily practice and the long-term professional development.
• You can translate goals, knowledge, and data into concrete and usable actions.
• You can communicate clearly and create followership among leaders and staff.
• You work structured and independently and follow agreements and tasks through to completion.
• You have good collaboration skills and thrive with contact to many different schools and professional groups.
• You are prepared for some travel activity in the municipality when tasks require it.
A relevant diploma, master's, or graduate degree is an advantage, but not a requirement. Knowledge of Greenlandic school conditions as well as Greenlandic and Danish language skills will also be an advantage.

Salary and Employment Conditions
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland and IMAK or another relevant negotiating organization.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If you already have staff housing through a position in a public organization, there may be an opportunity to transfer the housing arrangement to the new position according to applicable rules.
Criminal and Child Certificate
The position is subject to the rules regarding the procurement of criminal and child certificates. Employment can only begin when the municipality has received satisfactory certificates. The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the applicant's consent, while the applicant obtains the criminal certificate from the police.
Start date is desired on November 1, 2026, or by further agreement.
