Maternity Cover for Day Shifts

Home Care Nuuk is seeking 2 maternity covers for day shifts for 1 year. The tasks include care and support for citizens in their own homes, medication administration, documentation, and rehabilitative tasks. We are looking for a healthcare assistant who can take responsibility, collaborate interdisciplinary, and guide unskilled workers and students. The working hours are 40 hours weekly with shifts every 2nd weekend.

Home Care Nuuk is seeking 2 skilled and dedicated health care assistants for maternity leave cover for daytime shifts for 1 year.

 

The home care service in Nuuk takes care of tasks for about 290 citizens in their own homes, which can range from personal care to shopping. Since the fall of 2017, we have provided home care around the clock.

The home care team consists of day shifts, evening shifts, and night shifts, a department manager, 2 team coordinators, health helpers, health assistants, support staff distributed across all shifts, as well as unskilled workers in the day shift, who each day contribute to maintaining the citizen's quality of life, so they can remain in their own home for as long as possible.

The tasks for the citizens are divided into 10 routes managed by permanent staff. The evening team consists of two groups, each group has 5 staff members. The tasks are also distributed where the users are divided in the evening. They have a duty mobile while they are at work, and a person is designated to handle emergency calls in case of urgent visits. Those with a driver's license use the Home Care vehicle, while staff without a driver's license take the bus to the users in a specific order. Evening shifts meet for a break in the evening, eat together, and distribute tasks to those who need help in collaboration with the evening team. They can always contact each other.

We are looking for a healthcare assistant who is willing to take responsibility for the execution of tasks for the citizens and to provide guidance to unskilled workers and students.

The content of the position:

Care and support for the citizens

·Guidance and support

Rehabilitative tasks aimed at strengthening the citizen's level of functioning and resources.

·Contribute to creating trust and security through dialogue and conversation

Medication administration

Documentation

Assess the citizen's needs

Ensure a good start for new citizens and relatives.

Initiate health-promoting and preventive measures in collaboration with the citizens.

·Observe, identify, and respond appropriately to symptoms of the most common somatic and mental disorders in citizens.

Could participate in an interdisciplinary collaboration based on one's own level of competence.

Can take responsibility and perform tasks independently.

Introduce and guide new staff and students.

The tasks are solved in close collaboration with the other employees of the home care service, the department manager, and interdisciplinary partners.

Criminal record:

This position is subject to the law requiring a criminal record check. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
