Then you are the one we are looking for for the position in the integrated childcare institution "Meeqqat"’s department.

Integrated childcare institution Meeqqat in Nuuk is a childcare institution:

There are 10 toddlers in the nursery, they are 0 to 3 years old, there is only one room, and there are 15 children in the kindergarten, who are 3-6 years old, there is also only one room.

The childcare institution is open Monday to Friday from 07:00 - 17:00

You will have 9 colleagues including an intern. The staff are open to development. They work by room and are distributed as follows: 1 educator, 1 trained social helper, 1 assistant. There is a kitchen assistant in the childcare institution and they have an intern. The childcare institution “Meeqqat” has a parent representative group with five members. The upcoming assistant chef will work in the other room as an educator.

The children and staff are together in making decisions, we also strive for co-determination to occur in close dialogue with the parents and that it is age-appropriate while also fitting the children's maturity.

In addition to our work with the children's basic development, we have activities about body and movement, we gladly utilize the beautiful surrounding nature, we have activities about the old days and contemporary culture, while also working on good transitions from nursery to kindergarten and from the childcare institution to school.

∙ Have a relevant social/pedagogical education or have another relevant social background

∙ Are an educator in a childcare institution or similar. Have many years of experience in management

∙ Can take responsibility, can work independently, and actively participate in communities

∙ Refer to the leader's job and function description, which comes into effect in connection with the leader's absence. Are professionally curious and enjoy participating in good conversations about the pedagogical profession

∙ Are caring, stable, present, and calm in your work with children

∙ Can work flexibly and calmly in a busy and changing everyday life

∙ Respect children, parents, and colleagues while having good professional communication skills

∙ Have knowledge of IT at user level

Criminal and Child Certificate:

The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal and child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon when the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police and the criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in effect at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

No staff housing can be provided for the position.
