The Greenlandic Health Service is seeking a BI consultant to develop a new management information system. The position involves gathering and structuring data, developing data models and reporting solutions, as well as contributing to a common data foundation for the healthcare system in Greenland.

BI Consultant for Health Data and Management Information

Be part of building the data foundation for better planning in Greenland's healthcare system!

The Greenlandic Healthcare System is seeking a BI consultant for the development of a new management information system. The system should provide managers and clinical areas with a reliable basis for planning activities and capacity, prioritizing resources, and monitoring developments in operations.

Currently, data on activities, waiting times, and finances are stored in various IT systems. Over the next few years, we will build a common data foundation and continuously develop reports that managers and clinical areas can use in their daily work. The project also includes the establishment of a new data warehouse that will make it easier to use data across systems.

As a BI consultant, you will play a central role in gathering and structuring the data and building and maintaining the models, in close collaboration with 4 skilled colleagues in finance and in cooperation with our IT department.

Your tasks will include:

  • Developing data models, dashboards, and reporting solutions for management and the executive team
  • Developing digital tools and automated solutions that support planning and follow-up
  • Compiling and structuring data from various systems and data sources
  • Contributing to the establishment of a strong and usable data foundation and data warehouse across the healthcare system
  • Contributing to development projects and identifying improvement and efficiency potentials across the organization

We envision that you:

  • Have practical experience in building data models and reports in Power BI or a similar BI tool.
  • Can work with data from multiple sources and have experience with SQL, Power Query, DAX, or similar tools. Experience with Python or other programming for data processing and automation is an advantage.
  • Can understand user needs and translate them into solutions that are easy to use and maintain.
  • Have a relevant education or equivalent experience. Your background may be in finance, business analytics, information science, engineering, IT, or computer science.

About the department

The position is organizationally placed in the Finance Department and will be part of the budget team.

The Finance Department is a central staff function responsible for budgeting, financial management, analysis, and management information. The department supports the executive team and the organization's management across all of Greenland.

You will therefore have a broad contact surface and the opportunity to collaborate with both clinical and administrative staff throughout the healthcare system.

We offer

  • A newly created position with great opportunities to influence the establishment of a new data team
  • A workplace with high professionalism, engaged colleagues, and great independence
  • Good opportunities for professional development and tasks that are significant for the entire Greenlandic healthcare system
