Nuuk's new school – Atuarfik Inussuk - is ready to welcome employees and children from two schools as well as the two AKOs Illu and Narsarmiutaq

AKO and School:

The leisure part is a large and important part of most primary school children's daily life, and for us, it is important that the AKO is a safe place that allows for "free play" alongside planned activities and movement. You will become a social pedagogue for a new AKO with about 300 children divided into three groups of about 100 children. The AKO is part of Atuarfik Inussuk and operates according to the same values as the school. The new AKO is a merger of the two AKOs Illu and Narsarmiutaq and will be located in the same physical premises as the school. An important goal in the AKO will therefore also be to create continuity for the children from when they arrive at school in the morning until they go home after the leisure part in the afternoon.

The AKO currently consists of about 37 pedagogical employees.

A social helper who will engage in close collaboration with other pedagogical employees:

∙Will help plan and implement processes around activities

∙Can be responsible for activities

∙Can assist in parent meetings

∙A role model in relation to a good working environment

∙Who has a social helper or other relevant pedagogical education

Criminal and Child Certificate:

This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police as well as the criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
