Department Head for Digitalization

The Municipality of Sermersooq is looking for an engaged and visionary department head for Digitalization

As department head, you will have a unique opportunity to help build and shape the digitalization area in close collaboration with the head of IT & Digitalization. The area is under development, and you will be a central driving force in the work to create the structures, working methods, and collaborations that will form the foundation for the municipality's future digitalization efforts.

The position offers the opportunity to both set direction and translate ideas into concrete results in an organization with high ambitions for digital development.

About the position

As department head, you will play an important role in the development of the municipality's digitalization efforts. Tasks and responsibilities will evolve in line with the area's maturity, but will include:

·Development and maturation of the municipality's work with digitalization

·Planning, coordination, and execution of cross-cutting digitalization projects

·Establishment and further development of governance within digitalization and information security

·Support for the implementation and anchoring of new digital solutions in the organization

·Contribution to the development of the municipality's work with information security, compliance, and data management

·Creation of an overview of digitalization initiatives and support for prioritization and follow-up

·Building strong collaborative relationships with leaders, employees, and external partners

·Professional and personnel management of employees in the digitalization department

You will be part of the management team in IT & Digitalization and have a significant influence on how the area develops in the coming years.

Criminal record:

This position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in effect at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

There will be the possibility of assigning staff housing for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. are paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the Government of Greenland and the municipality's properties, etc. in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to temporary housing will be offered a temporary vacant housing, for which rent, utilities, etc. are paid according to the above. The start date is dependent on when a staff housing becomes available. A relocation travel and moving expenses will be provided according to applicable rules.
