By agreement Temporary On-site 10 Oct 2026 Deadline: 31 Oct 2026

We are looking for a nurse for a short-term position in Nuuk over Christmas and New Year. You will work with complex patients in a strong team, where there is a focus on professional support and a good working environment. An introduction will be provided, and you will be responsible for a few patients at a time.

Nurse sought for short Christmas and New Year temporary position at IMA Intermediate Monitoring Department (IMA)

Do you want to experience Christmas in Santa's own land? Then come and be part of our sought-after intermediate department in Nuuk.

With us, you will care for exciting and complex patients, where you will use all your knowledge and experience, and when you are off, you can experience Christmas markets, northern lights sailing, and cozy evenings with colleagues.

During a special period over Christmas and New Year, you can become part of our sought-after team for as little as 4-5 weeks. However, it is possible to take on a longer temporary position from mid-November to mid-January.

We have a fixed tradition of a joint breakfast between IMA and ITA on December 24th, before we together go out and welcome Santa when he lands in front of the hospital by helicopter.

This is for you who want to try your hand at the intermediate specialty, thrive in new professional challenges, and wish to be part of a team and a department that helps each other, has good professional sparring, and a strong working environment with a good reputation and high professionalism.

A place with room for development – and room for you

IMA is a department for patients needing close monitoring and complex care. It is a department where we work with patients with medical issues including neurology, cardiology, sepsis, mono-organ failure, etc. In addition, we also have surgical patients in orthopedic surgery, parenchymal surgery, or gynecology/obstetrics.

Whether you have no medical experience or have never been exposed to surgical specialties, we lift together and help each other. One thing we can promise – it will not be boring and you will not be alone.

You will receive:

  • A role where your nursing experience is highly valued – and we are happy to learn from your experience
  • A strong team working with telemetry monitoring, High Flow treatment, CPAP, and much more
  • Close collaboration with skilled colleagues including buddy pairing
  • Responsibility for a maximum of 2-3 patients at a time
  • A social department with a good atmosphere and high spirits, where you are never alone.
  • Three days of thorough introduction.
  • 12-hour weekend shifts.

We hope you:

  • Are eager to try something new, where the learning curve can be steep.
  • Are curious about more complex nursing
  • Are passionate about good patient care and high patient safety – regardless of diagnosis, severity, and complexity
  • Enjoy working in an environment with room for both focus and acute situations.

Nuuk – a capital close to nature

Imagine arriving at a modern hospital department with engaged colleagues and after work standing in the winter cold with mountains on the horizon, snow in the air, and the northern lights dancing above your head.

Nuuk is the capital of Greenland, and during Christmas time, the city transforms into something special: Advent stars in the windows, snow-covered streets, cozy gatherings, and a unique calm that descends over both the city and the mountains.

Here you will have a working life with meaning and complexity combined with a vibrant city life with cafes, culture, and good colleagues – and nature right outside your door. Mountain hikes in winter light and evenings with Christmas spirit or New Year coziness are a natural part of everyday life.
