Department Manager sought for the Department of Job and Guidance in Majoriaq Nuuk
The Municipality of Sermersooq is seeking a skilled and committed Department Manager for the Department of Job and Guidance in Majoriaq Nuuk, responsible for guidance to the labor market, which is rapidly developing according to applicable guidelines, so that the new department manager can participate in the continuation of the ongoing development.
The position is placed under the Municipality of Sermersooq’s administration for Welfare and Labor Market, where the Center Manager for Majoriaq Nuuk is the immediate superior.
The tasks in the Department of Job and Guidance in Majoriaq primarily consist of job placement, unemployment registration, professional qualification of the unemployed, activation of the unemployed, outreach guidance for youth, business contact, applications for hiring external labor, applications for mobility benefits, applications for job-seeking benefits, clarification processes for the unemployed, rehabilitation and flexible jobs, work ability assessments of early retirees and early retirement applicants, and related guidance and motivation processes.

Content of the position:
·To lead the employees in the Job and Guidance Department
·Ensure that business processes and case handling are organized and followed
·Ensure ongoing reporting for the preparation of statistics
·To ensure the development of employees and provide support
·Contribute to the competence development of employees
·To collaborate with other leaders in Majoriaq Nuuk
·To collaborate with labor market partners and educational institutions
·To collaborate with other administrations in the municipality
·To assist in the preparation of case proposals for the political committee
·To participate in solving various ad hoc tasks
Expectations:
·You have an education in the social field
·You have leadership experience
·You have knowledge of legislation in the social, education, and labor market areas
·You have knowledge of working with budgets and accounts
·You are results-oriented and assertive
·You maintain an overview in all situations and handle conflicts
·You have good organizational skills

·You meet people at eye level with respect and have a recognition-based leadership style
·You can participate in identifying wishes and needs in the labor market
·Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement

Criminal record:
This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in effect at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
