We are looking for an AC officer for the Maritime Office in Nuuk, where you will work with port infrastructure and public client responsibilities. The position requires experience in case processing and political work, as well as a relevant academic background. You will contribute to important projects for Greenland's supply security.

As an employee in the Department of Housing, Infrastructure, Outer Districts, and Emergency Management, you will become a central part of the administrative engine room. You will handle tasks with political attention, ensuring progress in complex projects and delivering precise decision-making grounds to the political level.

In the Maritime Office, work is done with shipping and ports – areas that are crucial for the country's supply security, business development, and infrastructure.

Work and responsibility area

The Infrastructure Department collaborates with relevant national authorities to organize legislation in Greenland, taking into account the special conditions that apply in Greenland.

The position is part of the ongoing operations of the Maritime Office as well as the general task resolution of the Infrastructure Department.

  • Client responsibility and project management: You will have the overall financial and legal client responsibility for the renovation efforts and modernization of Greenland's ports. This involves close collaboration with advisors, assessment of technical solution models, as well as preparation of business cases and supplementary appropriations.
  • Case processing and port authority: General authority exercise under port legislation, preparation of administrative decisions, responses to §37 questions, preparation of consultation responses, and other written case presentations.
  • Legislative and administrative work: Participation in the work regarding the management of the port law and follow-up on sector plans.
  • Coordinating tasks: Written and oral contact with relevant authorities, advisors, national authorities, and other external and internal parties.

Qualification requirements and expectations

We are looking for a strong professional profile with experience in the maritime field and critical infrastructure.

We expect that you have:

  • A relevant academic master's degree.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with public case processing and authority exercise from a politically governed organization in the maritime field or infrastructure area.
  • Experience in the role of public client, including financial management, contract control, and follow-up on construction projects.
  • Technical and engineering understanding of ports for the assessment and control of external advisors' technical materials.
  • Experience in preparing notes, political decision proposals, § 37 responses, and legislative technical work.
  • Good written formulation skills for bureaucratic case presentation and complex note work.

The tasks are administratively heavy, complex, politically sensitive, and critical to society.

The position

This is a vacant position with employment as an AC Officer. There will be no possibility of employment as a special consultant or chief consultant for this position.

Security clearance

To be considered for the position, it is required that you can be security cleared according to applicable rules. Salary and employment conditions

Salary - and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Housing

An unfurnished staff housing can be assigned to the position according to the applicable rules. The size of the housing depends on the number of persons in your household. As there may be a waiting period for the assignment of staff housing, you will be provided with a furnished vacant housing in the meantime. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship with the Self-Government and must therefore be vacated when the employment relationship with the Self-Government ends.

Date of commencement

November 1, 2026, or by agreement.

Working hours

40 hours weekly.
