The Ministry of Finance and Personnel is seeking a department head with strong legal expertise to lead a team of personnel lawyers and collective agreement consultants. The position involves personnel management, advising, negotiations, and teaching in employment law. The application deadline is October 30, 2026.

If you can nod yes – then the Ministry of Finance and Personnel is seeking a legally strong office manager for the ministry's personnel lawyers and collective agreement consultants. The position is located in the unit Personnel & Law.

The unit's tasks include:

  • Personnel cases, advice, and leadership sparring for the Self-Government and underlying units
  • Collective agreement negotiations, interpretation, and implementation
  • Teaching in employment law and preparing guidelines
  • Support for adjacent units' work

Currently, four lawyers and one consultant are involved in carrying out these tasks. They will all report to you.

Your tasks as office manager will include:

  • Personnel management for personnel lawyers and collective agreement consultants, including distribution, handling, and prioritization of cases.
  • Coordinate, optimize, and system support workflows internally in the unit and to units in the Self-Government and municipalities
  • Management information related to the unit
  • Close coordination with the office manager for personnel consultants in the unit Personnel & Law

We would like you to have the following professional background:

  • Completed Cand.jur/Cand.merc.jur or education at an equivalent level with a strong numerical understanding
  • Documented management experience
  • Negotiation experience and knowledge of the role of the Ministry of Finance and Personnel
  • Several years of experience in individual and collective employment law
  • Several years of experience in public administration, preferably in the Self-Government
  • Teaching experience

Employment conditions

The position is currently salary set corresponding to 36. The salary with fixed salary components and your contribution to pension in LR 36 amounts to DKK 57,531 monthly and DKK 690,372 annually as of April 1, 2026.

Initially, employment will be on collective agreement terms, where applicants who may already be civil servants under the civil servant laws for public Greenland may be employed on civil servant terms.

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving and moving household goods, in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Greenland Self-Government and the relevant negotiating organization at the time of commencement. Civil servants in the state and employees under a number of AC agreements, including the agreement between DJØF and the Ministry of Finance, have the right to unpaid leave in connection with employment under the Greenland Self-Government. The Ministry of Home Affairs has also recommended that municipalities and regions show consideration for applications for unpaid leave when employed under the Greenland Self-Government. The provisions on unpaid leave also cover spouses/partners of individuals employed under the Greenland Self-Government.

The working hours are initially 40 hours weekly, and there is a commitment of availability of 320 annually and 80 quarterly, and the provisions on compensation for lost days off do not apply.
