Arctic Circle Business is looking for a visionary and results-oriented director
Arctic Circle Business is the business council in Qeqqata Kommunia with its headquarters in Sisimiut and a branch in Maniitsoq.
As an independent organization, we work purposefully to strengthen the local business community through business promotion, business development, and the establishment of new companies. We collaborate closely with Nalik Ventures as well as a number of Greenlandic and international companies and organizations.
One of our main focus areas is to create the best possible framework for growth and development of private companies in Qeqqata Kommunia and thereby contribute to a stronger Greenlandic business community.
Arctic Circle Business also operates Destination Arctic Circle and actively works on tourism development with the needs and wishes of citizens and the local community at the center. The development takes place in close collaboration with the citizens, Qeqqata Kommunia, and other public and private actors. Tourism is one of Greenland's fastest-growing industries and constitutes a significant part of our strategic efforts.
We are looking for a director who:
Has a relevant higher education and solid experience from the business world.
Has in-depth knowledge of business development and business creation.
Is a strong communicator with impact and credibility.
Is skilled at creating, developing, and maintaining relationships and networks.
Has experience with leadership and the ability to create engagement, motivation, and results.
Thrives in a visible role with many partners.
Can think strategically while ensuring effective execution.
Has high professional integrity and works in a structured and professional manner.
As a leader, you are goal-oriented, process-oriented, and result-producing. You actively contribute to both professional and organizational development and are able to motivate, develop, and support employees through an inclusive leadership style.
Qualifications
We emphasize that you have:
Experience with business development and strategic leadership.
Solid knowledge of Greenlandic business conditions.
A strong regional and preferably national network.
Experience with business consulting, project management, or business development.
Good collaboration skills and strong relational competencies.
Understanding of political processes and public administration.
It would be an advantage if you have:
Knowledge of the Greenlandic business promotion system.
Experience with the development of public-private projects at local, regional, or national levels.
Knowledge of Greenlandic infrastructure and political initiatives

Life in Qeqqata
The position offers the opportunity to live and work in one of Greenland's most scenic regions, where mountains, fjords, and open expanses provide the framework for an active leisure life year-round.
In winter, the area offers skiing, snowmobiling, and dog sledding experiences, while summer provides opportunities for hiking, sailing, fishing, hunting, and a wide range of outdoor activities.
The region is part of the UNESCO World Heritage site Aasivissuit-Nipisat and has a rich cultural and community life with both local and international events, including the Arctic Circle Race and Arctic Sounds.
Employment conditions
Salary and employment are based on your qualifications. You are entitled to a free relocation travel as well as moving expenses. Housing can be provided in Sisimiut according to normal applicable rules.
The position involves some travel activity.
