KNP – Greenland's Prisons is looking for an instructor for the prison in Nuuk. The position involves planning and conducting education for inmates, including the use of distance learning. There is an opportunity for travel to other prisons. The application deadline is October 21, 2026.
KNP – Greenland's prisons offer an exciting teaching position with great development potential, with the workplace located in the prison in Nuuk. However, the teaching also concerns our other prisons.
The overall task is to offer inmates meaningful employment, including teaching. The main task is to plan and to some extent conduct distance learning in Qaqortoq, Aasiaat, and Ilulissat. The position may therefore involve travel activity.
In your daily work, you will collaborate closely with the other teacher in the institution in Nuuk, employment staff, prison officers, and the social work staff. You will report to the institution manager in Nuuk.
Specific tasks
· Organize, conduct, and evaluate individual teaching programs for inmates.
· Develop the use of distance learning in KNP – Greenland's Prisons
· Collaborate and coordinate with educational institutions regarding the organization of teaching programs for inmates inside or outside the prison
· Collaborate with the social work staff on the inmates' action plans
Our expectations

· Are a trained teacher, preferably with experience in special education or adult education.
· Are resourceful and accommodating.
· Can create an overview and work systematically.
· Have good knowledge of IT
Salary and employment conditions
You will be employed on an individual contract. Salary and allowances are based on education and experience.
The employment area is KNP – Greenland's prisons.
The working hours are 40 hours per week. The workplace is the prison in Nuuk.
An unfurnished staff housing may be assigned to the position. Rent and deposit are paid according to the applicable rules at any given time. A relocation travel allowance is provided for you and your family, provided you are not already residing in Nuuk. A vacation travel allowance is provided every other year for you and your family.
