We are looking for a dedicated and relationship-oriented educational assistant who will help create safe communities, meaningful activities, and good development opportunities for the young people who use Igdlo.

About the Youth Culture House Igdlo

Igdlo is a youth culture house in Tasiilaq where young people can meet, participate in activities, and be part of a safe and inclusive community. The young people are actively involved in the daily life of the house and in the development of activities and smaller projects.

As an employee, you will be part of a team that works with relationships, community, participation, and support for the young people. The work takes place in close collaboration with the house's users, colleagues, management, and relevant partners.

Your main tasks

·Contribute to the daily operations of the Youth Culture House Igdlo

·Create and maintain positive and respectful relationships with the house's users

·Assist in creating safe, inclusive, and developmental communities

·Plan, implement, and evaluate activities and smaller projects together with the young people and the house's other employees

·Provide general support and guidance to young people and refer them to relevant professionals or services when needed

·Participate in meetings, coordination, and collaboration with internal and external partners

·Handle practical, administrative, and activity-related tasks that naturally relate to the house's operations

·Contribute to the communication and development of the house's activities as agreed with the manager

Competence development and special competencies

Igdlo emphasizes ongoing competence development. Documented competencies, education, or certifications that go beyond the general requirements of the position, as well as specifically agreed functions or responsibilities, may, after a concrete assessment, form the basis for discussion or negotiation of qualification or function supplements. Any supplement requires a separate written agreement and follows applicable agreements and local salary procedures.

Working hours

Working hours are organized according to the house's opening hours and activities. There may be work in the afternoon, evening, and on weekends in accordance with the employment conditions and the specific work schedule.


Criminal and Child Certificate:

This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police and the criminal certificate from the Police.


The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.


Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/contract in effect at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.


Employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.


Housing:

Housing may be provided for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. are paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the Government of Greenland's and the municipality's properties, etc. in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, temporary staff housing will be offered to employees entitled to vacant housing, for which rent, utilities, etc. are paid according to the above. The start date is dependent on when a staff housing is available. A relocation travel and moving expenses will be provided according to applicable rules.
