Special Consultant for Executive Support and Strategic Management Coordination
The Department of Social Affairs, Labor Market, Families, and Interior Affairs is seeking a structured and initiative-driven special consultant for the Management Secretariat.
You will work closely with the head of department and contribute to creating an overview, coherence, and progress in the department's work. The position involves a broad contact area and ongoing collaboration with the department's divisions, other authorities, municipalities, organizations, and businesses.
About the Position
You will be a central partner for the head of department and play an important role in coordinating internal and external inquiries, meetings, agreements, and cross-cutting tasks.
Your main tasks will be to:
- support the head of department's daily and strategic management work
- coordinate calendar, meetings, agreements, and significant inquiries
- receive, assess, and coordinate internal and external inquiries
- prepare meetings, agendas, background materials, and follow-ups
- ensure a comprehensive overview of significant tasks, decisions, and deadlines
- follow up on cross-cutting agreements and deliveries
- prepare brief analyses, notes, status reports, and management information
- contribute to quality assurance of larger proposals and consultation responses
- gather information from municipalities, organizations, businesses, and other authorities
- support collaboration between the department's management and divisions
- develop better workflows for coordination, follow-up, and management information.
You will have the opportunity to shape the content of the position and develop your own areas of responsibility in line with your competencies and the department's needs.
About You
We expect that you:
- have a relevant higher education at least at the bachelor's level
- have relevant experience with political or administrative support
- master both Greenlandic and Danish orally and in writing
- can produce clear and precise texts in both languages
- have experience with coordination, meeting preparation, and follow-up
- can create an overview of many simultaneous tasks and deadlines
- work independently, structured, and solution-oriented
- have good judgment and can handle confidential information
- can build and maintain a broad professional network
- naturally collaborate with both management, employees, and external actors
- can communicate professionally with different professional groups and organizational levels.
Experience from the Inatsisartut, Naalakkersuisut, committees, central administration, or another politically led organization will be an advantage.
It is also an advantage if you have experience with analyses, quality assurance, cross-cutting projects, or the development of administrative workflows.

Organizational Placement
The position is placed in the Management Secretariat with a direct functional reference to the head of department.
You will work closely with the office manager of the Management Secretariat, the department's division heads, and other employees.
The position does not, as a rule, involve personnel responsibility.
Salary and Employment Conditions
The position is a permanent full-time position with an average working time of 40 hours per week and a place of work in Nuuk.
Salary and employment conditions are determined according to the agreement that applies to the selected candidate's educational background. Final salary placement will be based on education, documented relevant experience, and ASA's seniority calculation.
No housing is provided for the position.
Start Date
Start as soon as possible by agreement.
