By agreement Full-time On-site 13 Sep 2026 Deadline: 30 Sep 2026

The Social Authority is seeking a coordinator to strengthen efforts for children, young people, and individuals with disabilities. You will be responsible for driving and developing the department's work as well as coordinating tasks and projects. The position requires experience in project management and a coordinating role.

Are you ready to take professional responsibility in a department that works to strengthen knowledge and initiatives for children and young people and their families and individuals with disabilities.

The Department for Advice to Caseworkers consists of various professional teams that work to support municipalities regarding case management in the areas of children and young people, disabilities, and foster care. In addition, we support family counseling and hold courses for foster families, and as part of an organizational change, we will also be the coordinator for the Central Crisis Preparedness going forward.

Your role:
You will have a central role in the department and will be responsible for driving, developing, and coordinating the work of the professional areas on a daily basis, as well as being a link between the professional fields and coordinating across the department in collaboration with the department head. We expect you to take professional responsibility for the entire department, but we do not expect you to be an expert in all our areas; instead, you should lead our skilled colleagues in their professional work. This means that you will support the department's teams with delegation, prioritization, and follow-up on tasks, as well as being a sparring partner in task resolution.

With your overview and knowledge of the department's work, you will become an important sparring partner for the department head, and you should support the department head with both support and challenge when strategic decisions need to be made.

Your tasks will include:

  • Coordination and development of the work in the department
  • Overview of tasks in the department and delegation of new tasks
  • Task management, sparring with colleagues on task resolution, and development of initiatives and tasks, including in connection with courses and preparation of guidance materials
  • Preparation of project descriptions and work packages
  • Project management of small and large projects, including our work to engage more with digital and online solutions such as e-learning and webinars
  • Support the progress of projects
  • The continued work with the professional support of the municipalities' ESDH system, where the department supports development and implementation.
  • Collaboration with external actors, where municipalities are particularly important partners, and we continuously work to ensure that our work meets the needs of the municipalities.
  • Support and spar with the department head
  • Prepare registration forms, planorama, questionnaires, and statistics, including in relation to evaluations and inquiry statistics.
  • Written tasks such as notes/reports and briefings.
  • Administrative and AD-HOC tasks, e.g., in connection with holding workshops and seminars.
  • Book travel and accommodations for employees as well as for other participants

We are looking for:
You have several years of experience and may already be a specialist or chief consultant; alternatively, you have experience as a project manager, development consultant, or similar – preferably from the social sector in a politically governed organization.

You are a strong coordinator and project manager who can maintain an overview and juggle the famous and notorious "many balls" in the air and can adapt. You are eager to take responsibility and ensure that projects and tasks are completed.

You are a good and trust-building sparring and collaboration partner for your colleagues, your leader, and external partners.

Additionally, you can recognize yourself in our ideal candidate.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has experience in a coordinating function and task management
  • Has experience in project management, including projects with multiple contributors and partners.
  • Can work in all parts of a project from development and description to evaluation
  • Has experience in coordinating and delegating tasks, preferably from a role such as a professional leader.
  • Has experience from the social sector and working across multiple professional areas.
  • Has experience from a politically governed organization, including experience in preparing proposals and consultation responses.
  • Is analytical and strategic in their approach to work.
  • Has experience in management support and sparring.
  • Is administratively strong and good at writing, both for small and large tasks.
  • Has good IT skills and a desire to work with digital solutions and systems.
  • Has experience with SurveyXact and smaller statistical tasks.
  • Has a long higher education degree, e.g., cand.soc., cand.mag., cand.pæd., or similar.

We are primarily a Greenlandic-speaking department, so it is an advantage if you can communicate in Greenlandic; however, we have good experience working bilingually and consider each other, so it is not a requirement.

We offer
A meaningful job where you will play a central role in both development and operations in a department that supports all municipalities, and you will therefore have the opportunity to influence the quality of the case management and support that vulnerable children, young people, and their families and individuals with disabilities receive from municipalities across the country.

A position where you will have significant responsibility for ensuring that we meet political and municipal expectations of us.

Skilled colleagues with extensive practical experience in our professional areas in a department where we are good at laughing together. In addition to the 4 teams for children and young people, the disability area, the foster care area, and family counseling, the department consists of 2 project managers, a lawyer, and a department head.

The Social Agency
The Social Agency is divided into 5 departments: The Prevention Department Paarisa, The Day and Visitations Department, The Department for Advice to Caseworkers, The Finance Department, and The Secretariat. The position is anchored in The Department for Advice to Caseworkers, which consists of various professional teams that support municipalities' case management in the areas of children and young people as well as foster care. In addition, we support the Child and Family Centers and Family Houses, and provide training in family counseling as well as courses for foster parents.
