About us
The Gynecological/Obstetric Department K3 is a surgical ward that receives both gynecological and obstetric patients from all over Greenland. We receive both planned and emergency patients, and there is a high patient flow, as most admissions last less than a week.
The department has 10 maternity and pregnancy places as well as space for two "grow-babies." In addition, we have eight beds for gynecological patients and breast surgical patients. We handle both regular gynecological patient processes and palliative processes, where care and security for patients and relatives are an important part of our work.
We are closely connected to the Maternity Department and collaborate daily with midwives, health visitors, and other professional groups. In addition, we collaborate with health centers and regional hospitals throughout Greenland and are part of Greenland's specialized department for children and births.
Competence development is a natural part of everyday life. We prioritize professional development highly and hold ongoing training and competence development days. The department also has an education and development responsible employee who supports the department's development work.
We are a group of engaged colleagues with a good camaraderie, where we help each other and prioritize a good introduction for new employees. You will become part of the Surgical Area, which consists of the Orthopedic Surgical Department (K1), the Parenchymal Surgical Department (K2), the Gynecological/Obstetric Department (K3), the Maternity Ward, and the Surgical Outpatient Clinic.
