Administration for Children and Family Tilioq Paamiut seeks Lead Social Worker

The position is a team leader/lead social worker position in the Administration for Children and Family under Tilioq in Paamiut.

Working hours are from Monday – Friday (40 hours a week).

Your areas of responsibility will primarily consist of:

·Developing and maintaining a high level of professional specialization

·Delegating cases

·Quality assurance and management of case processes and deadlines in accordance with legislation and internal case flow descriptions

·Exercising daily, professional leadership

·Monitoring the professional quality of casework.

·Training employees in the use of professional methods

·Consultation on individual cases

·Ensuring that the administrative basis is adhered to

·Ensuring that internal deadlines are adhered to

·Complying with and monitoring the competence and delegation plan

·Other tasks as agreed with the department head

The Administration for Children and Family in Paamiut is both an authority area and an intervention area:

The tasks are handled by 3 caseworkers, including the preparation of social professional investigations, the preparation of action plans, working with prevention, and handling cases involving placed children and young people in foster families or residential institutions as well as aftercare.

Additionally, there are 2 family counselors and 1 youth advisor who handle interventions for referred families and children and young people.

Furthermore, there is 1 foster family consultant who manages the foster family area in Paamiut.

Criminal and Child Certificate:

This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal and child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police, as well as the criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland and AK or another relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

There will be the possibility of assigning staff housing for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the Government of Greenland and the municipality's properties, etc. in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to temporary housing will be offered a temporary vacant housing, for which rent, utilities, etc. will be paid in accordance with the above. The start date is dependent on when a staff housing becomes available. A relocation travel and moving expenses will be provided in accordance with applicable rules.
