MISI-Avannaa is responsible for the pedagogical psychological counseling in Avannaata Kommunia, the world's northernmost municipality. We are based in Ilulissat by Disko Bay and the world-famous ice fjord.
MISI Avannaa handles tasks within both the school and daycare sector throughout Avannaata Kommunia, which is distributed across 4 towns and 21 settlements.
Ilulissat offers magnificent nature with rich opportunities for hiking, sailing, dog sledding, skiing, hunting, fishing, etc., and is also a modern town with various cultural and leisure activities.

Additionally, the job includes business trips by ship, plane, and helicopter to towns and settlements in the municipality.
We are looking for a psychologist – preferably authorized – with several years of experience working with children with special needs. The right applicant finds it exciting to work in a system that is based on Greenlandic language and culture, and:
- has knowledge of recent research and pedagogical-psychological theories
- has several years of experience regarding work with children with special needs
- is dynamic and development-oriented
- has knowledge of pedagogical psychological work with children and young people
- is resilient and can work independently and flexibly in relation to diverse tasks
Employment is based on the agreement of June 28, 2019, between Naalakkersuisut and Ilinniartitsisut Meeqqat Atuarfianneersut Kattuffiat, IMAK for teachers in the public school in Greenland, etc.
For applicants who are already civil servants, this form of employment can be continued.
Housing is provided, for which rent, deposit, etc. is paid according to the applicable regulations at any given time.
The position is desired to be filled by October 1, 2026, or by further agreement.
