We are looking for a department nurse for the ward in Aasiaat. You will lead a multidisciplinary staff group and strengthen nursing care. The position involves responsibility for daily management, planning, and coordination of tasks as well as a good working environment.

We are looking for a department nurse for the ward at the Regional Hospital in Aasiaat

You can have the opportunity as our new department nurse in the ward.

In the ward, there are 22 beds. Admissions to the ward include all patient categories.

The ward operates as an emergency/reception from 4:00 PM to 8:00 AM. This means that there can be phone calls from all towns and settlements during this time.

You will lead a well-functioning staff group consisting of nurses, healthcare assistants, and department helpers.

You will have great opportunities to influence the work environment and culture in the house together with an engaged staff group. We focus on staff well-being, a purposeful and constructive meeting culture.

You will have close collaboration with the department nurses throughout the Disko region, as we focus on collaborating across the region.

The management structure is flat, and there is a visible management that will be a sparring partner along with the other department leaders, the operations manager, and the chief regional doctor.

As a department nurse, you are:

  • Responsible for visible daily management.
  • Responsible for planning and executing nursing within the clinical area
  • Responsible for ensuring high professionalism in patient contacts and targeted patient pathways
  • Co-responsible for planning and coordinating tasks related to specialist visits
  • Co-responsible for recruiting and retaining employees
  • In collaboration with the staff group responsible for a good work environment
  • Responsible for duty roster and vacation plan

Aasiaat

Aasiaat is located in the Disko Region in Northwest Greenland. The healthcare system consists of the hospital in Aasiaat, the health centers in Qasigiannguit and Qeqertarsuaq, the nursing station in Kangaatsiaq, and village health clinics in the 8 settlements. In Aasiaat town, there are about 3000 inhabitants, about 1000 inhabitants in both Qeqertarsuaq and Qasigiannguit, and about 7000 inhabitants in the entire region.

The Disko Region is located north of the Arctic Circle, which means we have both midnight sun in the summer and polar night in the winter. The area has been inhabited for many generations, which there are fine traces of throughout the region. The nature is characterized by the sea, the archipelago, the mountains, sea ice, and icebergs. There are good opportunities to visit the other larger towns in the region.

Housing will be provided according to the rules applicable in the Greenlandic healthcare system at any given time.

Salary and employment

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Citizenship

If you are not a Nordic citizen, please note that employment is conditional on a valid residence and work permit. Residence and work permits can only be applied for upon agreed employment.
