The Education Agency is seeking a visionary publishing manager/team leader for Ilinniusiorfik, who will ensure the development and production of educational materials for primary schools. The position involves leading the editorial team and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. The start date is November 1, 2026, or by agreement.

The Education Agency is looking for a visionary, development-oriented, and committed publishing manager/team leader for Ilinniusiorfik. The position is anchored in the Department of Pedagogy and Development and reports to the department head.

As the daily leader of Ilinniusiorfik, you will be responsible for ensuring the development, production, and dissemination of high-quality teaching materials for primary schools. At the same time, you will lead an important development process where new digital opportunities, strong collaborative relationships, and a new publishing strategy must be translated into concrete results. This work takes place in close collaboration with both colleagues in the Education Agency and external partners.

About Ilinniusiorfik

As the primary publisher of Greenlandic-language teaching materials for primary schools, Ilinniusiorfik contributes to creating a solid foundation for teaching in public schools and to the continued development of the entire education system.

The publishing house is currently undergoing an important development and anchoring process with a focus on:

  • Development and implementation of a new publishing strategy.

  • Strengthening the production of teaching materials in areas such as history and mathematics and the subject of Greenlandic.

  • Development of digital learning resources.

  • New forms of collaboration and work processes.

Therefore, we are looking for a leader who is eager to drive development and create direction in a changing educational publishing house.

Start date: November 1, 2026, or by agreement.

Your tasks

As a publishing manager/team leader, you will among other things:

  • Lead, coordinate, and prioritize the work in the editorial team with both revision, versioning, and development of new teaching materials in both analog and digital form.

  • Further develop, implement, and follow up on the publishing house's strategy and goals.

  • Ensure a well-functioning collaboration between Ilinniusiorfik and the other departments of the Education Agency.

  • Exercise daily personnel management and support the professional development of employees.

  • Ensure high professional quality in the publications as well as compliance with applicable legislation and copyright regulations.

  • Contribute to the political and administrative servicing of the education sector.

  • Lead and participate in cross-cutting development projects in collaboration with internal and external actors.

  • Contribute to the development and streamlining of workflows, including digital processes and tools.

Your profile

We envision that you:

  • Have a relevant academic or pedagogical education.

  • Have experience in leadership or strong qualifications to take on a leadership role. Leadership training is an advantage but not a requirement.

  • Have experience from the education sector and preferably knowledge of the development or production of teaching materials.

  • Have in-depth knowledge of Greenlandic society, language, and the school system.

  • Have experience with project management and are familiar with digital tools and IT systems.

  • Are updated on current trends in pedagogy, teaching, learning technology, and teaching materials.

  • Can work strategically while ensuring progress in daily operations.

  • Are structured, responsible, and results-oriented.

  • Are a skilled communicator and collaborator.

  • Have an eye for quality, legal matters, and administrative processes.

  • Have strong coordination skills and can create an overview in complex tasks.

  • Thrive in a politically governed organization and understand the frameworks and processes that come with it.

About the Education Agency

The Education Agency is a politically governed organization and works both with servicing the Department and the political level, as well as development and production. We are a diverse workplace with many different functions, which, in addition to more traditional agency functions, also has its own publishing house, printing house, and information and lending collections. The agency primarily deals with public schools, boarding schools, and independent schools, GUX, Attat, and NUIKI. We are about 55 colleagues who, in an informal environment, take pride in maintaining a high professional level.

Salary and employment conditions:

The position is classified. Employment will be on collective agreement terms according to the "Collective Agreement between the Naalakkersuisut and the Union of Teachers in Greenland, IMAK, for teachers in public schools." If the applicant is already a civil servant under the civil servant laws for the public sector in Greenland, employment may occur under civil servant terms.

Housing:

No staff housing can be provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is tied to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
