The Municipality of Sermersooq is looking for two substitutes for the Therapist Team in Nuuk preferably from November 1, 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter.

Are you a trained physiotherapist or occupational therapist and would you like to come to Nuuk and work as a municipal physiotherapist or occupational therapist for 6 months? Then this might be just right for you!

The Therapist Team is divided into four main areas and one specialty area: The Child Area, The Adult Area, The Rehabilitation Area, and The Disability & Social Psychiatry Area, as well as a specialist therapist responsible for welfare technology tasks.

The Therapist Team contributes to ensuring that citizens of all ages with physical, cognitive, and/or psychiatric challenges achieve the greatest possible independence in their daily lives. We do this, among other things, through training in everyday skills through meaningful activities. Maintenance training either individually or in groups. Assessment, approval, and distribution of large and small assistive devices that aim to increase citizens' independence, accessibility, and participation in their own lives.

We are facing a newly started development process where professionalism, diversity, and community are the hallmarks of the development of our core task: To support citizens on the path to greater independence and increased quality of life.

If you are interested in closely collaborating across disciplines to solve many exciting tasks and conduct group training in the Municipality of Sermersooq, then you are the one we are looking for!

The position is a full-time position of 40 hours with a shared office in Nuuk, from where your daily work will be based.

Therapist's tasks:

∙Professional assessments and evaluations

∙Maintenance training in the citizen's own home, training room, pool, etc.

∙Home visits in connection with both training, instruction, and assessment

∙Case processing of applications for assistive devices and housing modifications

∙Procurement of assistive devices, distribution of, and training/instruction in the use of assistive devices

∙Meetings with clients, relatives, and interdisciplinary collaborators

∙Written and oral advice and guidance to citizens and collaborators

∙Documentation

∙Administrative tasks

∙Interdisciplinary collaboration

We need a person who:

∙Is a trained physiotherapist or occupational therapist

∙Has experience in training and assistive devices in a municipal context

∙Has experience with interdisciplinary collaboration

∙Has knowledge about assistive devices

∙Can work independently and be self-organizing

∙Is creative, engaged, action-oriented, and professionally well-founded

∙Can act in different cultures

∙Is flexible and adaptable in a changing world

∙Is a team player who is open and inclusive

∙Is a good communicator – good at training other professional groups

∙Is bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement

Criminal and Child Certificate:

This position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal and child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon when the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police and the criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions will be in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of employment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

No staff housing can be provided for the position.
