Educational consultant sought for daycare department

If you want to help develop and ensure the quality of our many exciting daycare offerings, you have the chance now. We are looking for an educational consultant to start on October 1, 2026, or by agreement.

Your core task will be to support and develop the educational work in the daycare institutions. Projects and other initiatives that support this must be continuously developed and implemented in the daycare institutions. As an educational consultant, your task will be to facilitate and support the processes in collaboration with the leaders in the area as well as other relevant partners. This is a position with a high degree of freedom and accompanying responsibility, where you have ample opportunity to shape your everyday life.

Our goal is to ensure that all children have the best opportunities to develop. This happens in close collaboration between daycare institutions, schools, networks, and parents or other caregivers. Together, we ensure that all children thrive and develop. As an educational consultant, you should be a professional educational advisor and guide for our daycare institutions.

The administration works based on the objectives of

·Creating curious, resilient, healthy, and happy children and

·Having Greenland's best daycare institutions and schools that include all children, and furthermore

·Having qualified and visionary staff who understand their responsibilities and live up to them. We work according to a positive and appreciative view of children, believing that every child is unique and has competencies, resources, and developmental potentials. This is what the educational consultant will work towards

Your tasks:

·Advise, guide, and introduce the leaders in the daycare institutions. This is done based on experience, knowledge, and insights from recent research

·Collaborate with and support the institution leaders regarding educational themes, educational development, administration, finance, personnel management, and collaboration

·Plan, organize, and conduct educational activities, including courses and presentations

·Initiate, lead, and participate in development projects as well as develop and maintain guidelines

·Process cases within the educational field, including handling complaints and applications for desired transfers

·Conduct supervision

·Ad hoc tasks across the department

We expect:

·That you are proactive regarding new knowledge in the field and can convey the connection between theoretical knowledge and practical experiences - both in writing and orally

·That you can give presentations on relevant knowledge in the field and initiate and manage processes

·That you thrive working in an area between practice and policy and can translate political and legislative requirements and wishes into practice-oriented initiatives

·That you can oversee and coordinate the many diverse tasks in the daycare area

Professional competencies:

·Educated as a pedagogue, preferably supplemented with relevant further education

·Good language skills, including being proficient in both Greenlandic and Danish

·Good IT skills and comfortable working on a computer

Criminal and Child Certificate:

This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon when the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police and the criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/contract in effect at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

No staff housing can be provided for the position.
