Social Worker for Tikiusaaq Ilulissat
Social worker sought for the leisure offer Tikiusaaq, starting from 15.09 2026 or by agreement.
“Tikiusaaq” is an after-school leisure offer with space for 100 children, divided into 3 rooms. We are a total of 13 employees at Tikiusaaq, including 1 kitchen manager and 1 cleaning person.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Work based on the goals of the children and youth policy in Avannaata Municipality
- Capable of introducing new forms of pedagogy
- Help ensure a safe and secure leisure offer for children, parents, and staff
- Capable of creating information brochures regarding the leisure offer
- Work based on new ideas and in accordance with political goals
- Work together with the leader on a daily basis
Qualifications:
- Trained social worker
- Experience working in daycare
- Responsible, observant of development, and capable of creating changes in work processes
- Can remain calm even in stressful situations, flexible, easy-going colleague, friendly and stable
- Physically and mentally healthy, open and fresh
- Ready to work based on the leisure offer's goals and action plans
There is no staff housing associated with the position.
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain public criminal and child certificates. The applicant must give consent for this, after which documentation will be obtained from the National Police.
