We are looking for an educator for Angerlarsimaffik Qasapermiut in Sisimiut, who is passionate about working with foster children. The position involves creating meaningful activities and supporting the children in their daily lives. Employment from October 1, 2026, or by agreement.

About Qasapermiut 
Qasapermiut is located in Sisimiut, Greenland. Qasapermiut is under the Department of Social Affairs, Family and Justice for children and young people aged 13 to 17 who have experienced neglect and aftercare for ages 18 – 23. The placed children have had a childhood marked by neglect and come from all over Greenland.
Our closest partners are Isikkivik and Pilutaq.
The pedagogy at Qasapermiut is based on a cognitive, resource-oriented, and appreciative approach in a structured environment, including hunting life. We emphasize that they have a stable everyday life with schooling, leisure interests, and a social life outside the institution.
On weekends and holidays, we try to offer the children good experiences in nature in the form of cabin trips, hunting and skiing trips, as well as participating in various events in the city.

The educator's closest reference is the Department Heads in Qasapermiut.

We expect:
●    That you are stable/robust and engaged in your work.
●    That you can work in a structured manner and be a clear adult.
●    That you have experience working with placed children.
●    That you have a pedagogical education or experience in working with placed children and young people.
●    That you can help plan and create meaningful activities for the children and young people.
●    That you are willing to go on colony and project trips to the villages for up to 9 days at a time.
●    That you can work varying hours, e.g., morning, evening, and night shifts.
●    That you participate in the development of pedagogical development plans in collaboration with the nearest leader and the other staff.
●    That you are involved in the development of pedagogical treatment plans, status reports, and status writings regarding children and young people.

The criminal record/child certificate will be included in the assessment of who will be employed in the position.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary - and employment conditions, including the right to travel for recruitment and relocation of belongings, according to the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
For an applicant with the right documented competencies, employment may occur as a special consultant, chief consultant, or senior advisor according to the applicable collective agreement.

Housing                                                                     
Unfurnished staff housing may be assigned for the position according to the applicable rules at any time. Housing cannot be assigned to individuals who already have staff housing or another housing owned by the municipality or the Government of Greenland. Rent and deposit are paid according to the applicable rules for the assigned housing. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.

Rent and housing standards may vary depending on the age of the housing, ownership conditions, etc. There may be waiting time for the assignment of permanent staff housing, which is why temporary accommodation may occur, including in smaller communal living arrangements or hotel apartments, for which taxation occurs. It is not possible to keep larger pets, such as dogs or cats, in staff or temporary housing.
