Majoriaq Nuuk is looking for a teacher for the subject of English for

Majoriaq Nuuk is a developing company. In recent years, Majoriaq Nuuk has taken initiatives to make its core tasks more flexible, but also to meet the needs of the citizens. It is a place where the central core tasks are to guide young people and adults to move forward with their education and or activate the citizen to obtain a profession. Since Majoriaq Nuuk is a workplace for guidance and has a qualification program for adults, it is a great advantage that you are a seminar-trained teacher and have experience or education in adult education as well as good IT skills.

You will work as a teacher at Majoriaq, where your task is to teach and motivate young people and adults to be ready to start an education.

The teaching method at Majoriaq is at FA level (the primary school admission test). Furthermore, it would be an advantage if you have an interest in conducting project-oriented teaching, so that students at Majoriaq experience the teaching as motivating, meaningful, and present.

Planning of teaching takes place in collaboration with the school's other teachers and counselors, where the requirements are:

We expect that:

·You have a teaching degree

·You have good language skills both orally and in writing

·You have teaching experience for adults and from similar positions

·You have initiative and a desire to make your mark on the school's development

·You can use IT in teaching

·You have knowledge of final exams

Criminal record:

This position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon when the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be with a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

There will be the possibility of assigning staff housing for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. are paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the Government of Greenland and the municipality's properties, etc. in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to temporary housing will be offered a temporary vacant housing, for which rent, utilities, etc. are paid according to the above. The start date is dependent on when there is staff housing available. A relocation travel and moving of personal belongings will be provided according to applicable rules.
