The health centers in Narsaq and Nanortalik are seeking specialists or doctors with clinical experience for temporary positions starting from October 2026. The position involves independent work with significant responsibility and collaboration with specialists. Temporary positions of 2-3 months are offered, with the possibility of permanent employment.

Do you want to combine a professional environment with magnificent nature and meaningful work close to the local community?

The health centers in Narsaq and Nanortalik are looking for specialists or doctors with solid clinical experience for temporary positions starting from October 1, 2026, or by agreement.
Here you will have the opportunity to work broadly and independently with significant clinical responsibility, while also engaging in close interdisciplinary collaboration with specialists at Queen Ingrid's Hospital in Nuuk and the Regional Hospital in Qaqortoq. We can offer temporary positions of 2-3 months duration.

We offer:

  • Working hours from 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM, without on-call duties, with supplements according to the collective agreement for doctors
  • A close collaboration with specialists from all specialties at DIH (Queen Ingrid's Hospital in Nuuk) and the Regional Hospital in Qaqortoq.

We are looking for you who:

  • Wants to make a difference and is prepared for both professional and cultural challenges
  • Has Danish authorization and preferably a background in general medicine or internal medicine
  • Has at least a couple of years of clinical experience after KBU
  • Has an interest in health promotion and patient education
  • Thrives in interdisciplinary collaboration and can participate in the reception of acute patients
  • Preferably has experience with gynecology and/or ultrasound
  • Has good communication skills and an understanding of cultural differences

About us:

  • You will be a doctor in the Greenlandic Health Service's health centers in either Narsaq or Nanortalik.
  • Your task will be to collaborate with the other staff to provide the best possible health service, including a health educational effort.
  • There is daily opportunity for telemedicine patient reviews (coastal rounds) with specialists from DIH (Queen Ingrid's Hospital) in Nuuk from all specialties.
  • There is the possibility of permanent employment or a temporary position of at least 3 months, with the opportunity to combine the position with work at the Regional Hospital in Qaqortoq. There we are a total of 5 doctors.
  • This could involve an introduction at one of the Health Centers and subsequent clinic work in Qaqortoq, before returning to one of the health centers, or by agreement.

General:

  • Our journal system is Cosmic, which you will be trained in if you do not already know it
  • The Greenlandic health service is bilingual; Danish and Greenlandic. There are interpreters employed at the hospital.

Housing will be provided according to the rules applicable at any time in the Greenlandic Health Service.

Salary and employment

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Citizenship

If you are not a Nordic citizen, please note that employment is conditional on a valid residence and work permit. Residence and work permits can only be applied for upon agreed employment.
