The Greenlandic Health Service offers a KBU position, starting from March 1, 2027, which includes ½ year in Internal Medicine at Queen Ingrid's Hospital in Nuuk, and ½ year in General Medicine including emergency room at Queen Ingrid's Health Center!

DIH and DIS are both physically connected in Nuuk.

The Medical Department, DIH, has an outpatient clinic, day ward, and 26 beds distributed across two inpatient wards; an integrated children's ward with eight beds and an intermediate ward (IMA) with 6-8 beds for monitoring patients with heart diseases and other acute illnesses that need close observation in the first days. Additionally, complex patients are seen at the Patient Hotel, which accommodates patients coming from areas outside Nuuk. In the medical inpatient wards, a wide range of medical specialties are admitted. The Medical Day Ward handles certain types of oncological treatment in Greenland as well as various day hospital functions such as biological treatment.
The Medical Outpatient Clinic handles outpatient functions within all medical specialties as well as pediatrics.

The medical work area is very broad, exciting, and challenging. Virtually all types of medical conditions exist, including diseases that are rarely seen elsewhere. We receive patients from all over Greenland, and regularly our doctors participate in patient transport, where critically ill patients need to be transported from regional hospitals to DIH. You will experience the art of medicine in a different way than you know from Danish conditions. On weekdays, you will primarily collaborate with your colleagues in ward rounds in the inpatient wards, become skilled at taking medical histories, and familiarize yourself with on-call work mainly during the day.

Queen Ingrid's Health Center, DIS, is physically located in connection with the national hospital, DIH. The health center is modern and provides primary health services for Nuuk's health district as well as associated settlements. The health center resembles a Danish general practice in daily operations, and we also have an on-call doctor and emergency room function available around the clock, which is alternately handled by doctors employed at the health center. This means that virtually all types of patients are received and treated or referred to DIH.

For all training programs, there is supervision according to the training plan. We guarantee that you will gain broad experience through a process that is developing both professionally and personally. A prerequisite for a good stay is that you are able to collaborate with different professional groups. You will become familiar with on-call work in the emergency room mainly during the day. There will be opportunities for occasional night shifts once you are introduced to the departments and familiar with the workflows and conditions at both DIH and DIS.

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
