Would you like to help lead the emergency services at one of the world's most unique workplaces? At Pituffik Space Base in Greenland, we are looking for an experienced operations leader for a key position in the fire department's management, where you will be responsible for employees, emergency preparedness, and collaboration with US Space Base.

You will be part of the fire station's management - a team consisting of the fire chief, deputy fire chief, and 4 operations leaders.

The fire department at Pituffik Space Base is responsible for the emergency services for one of the world's northernmost military installations and handles tasks related to both building fires, technical rescue, and aircraft readiness. Pituffik Space Base is operated and maintained by Inussuk under contract with US Space Base.

We offer an attractive salary package and good employment conditions. The employment includes your own housing on the base, a car, full board, and transportation between CPH and Pituffik Space Base.

The position is organized as a rotational scheme with 8-12 weeks of stay at the base followed by 4 weeks of continuous leave.

Job Responsibilities

• Participate in round-the-clock duty at the fire station.
• Daily management of the station's employees.
• Ensure that employees continuously maintain and develop the necessary competencies.
• Ensure that procedures, instructions, and manuals are updated, implemented, and followed in the organization.
• Participate in planned exercises, briefings, and meetings with US Space Base. Exercises, briefings, and meetings are conducted in English.

Qualifications and Experience

We emphasize that you:

• Thrive in an international environment.
• Can maintain an overview in pressured situations.
• Are a visible and motivating leader.
• Have good collaboration skills and communicate clearly in Danish and English.

We also expect that you have:

• Updated operations leader training according to Danish regulations.
• Leadership training from the rescue service or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience.
• Driver's license category C.
• Good English skills and solid IT skills.
• Operations leader for Aircraft, BVU, and BGU is an advantage (fire technical education 1-2-3).
• Danish citizenship is required for employment at the base as well as for security clearance.
