About the position

Maligiaq is looking for 2 committed and professionally well-founded social educators who will actively participate in the pedagogical work and contribute to the children's well-being, development, learning, and formation. You will be part of a work community where positive relationships, clear frameworks, and close collaboration with parents are the foundation for daily practice.

We work to ensure that children experience coherence, safety, and presence throughout the day. You will have the opportunity to influence activities and help further develop Maligiaq's pedagogical practice.

Your main tasks

·Plan, implement, and evaluate developing pedagogical activities based on the needs of the child group

·Create safe, inclusive, and predictable frameworks and support positive relationships between children and adults

·Observe and follow each child's well-being and development and contribute professionally to the collective pedagogical reflection

·Collaborate respectfully and solution-oriented with parents, colleagues, management, and relevant interdisciplinary partners

·Contribute to structure, good routines, healthy food, hygiene, and an active outdoor life

·Participate actively in staff meetings, professional discussions, and the development of the institution's practice

Our pedagogical characteristics

Maligiaq consists of six flexible rooms for nursery and kindergarten children. We particularly emphasize:

·Good skills in Greenlandic and Danish are an advantage, but not a requirement

About Maligiaq

Integrated Institution Maligiaq is located close to the swimming pool Malik and good opportunities for walks, accommodating 96 children distributed across six rooms: 36 nursery children aged 0–2½ years in three rooms with 12 children in each room and 60 kindergarten children aged 2½–6 years in three rooms with 20 children in each room.

In addition to the leader, the institution is staffed with three employees in each room, where the deputy manager is included in the staffing, as well as employees for kitchen and cleaning. The institution is open Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 17:00.

Criminal and Child Certificate:

This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal and child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police as well as the criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

No staff housing can be provided for the position.
