Office Assistant sought for Payroll Service in the Government of Greenland
Payroll Service in the Department of Economy and Personnel (ASA) is looking for a skilled and committed office assistant. As an office assistant in Payroll Service, you will help process and allocate salaries for the entire Central Administration in the Government of Greenland and its subordinate units.
The Department of Economy and Personnel is under the Ministry of Finance and Taxes in the Government of Greenland.
As an employee in Payroll Service, you will primarily work with hourly wages, but there will also be a need to solve tasks across the hourly wage and monthly salary areas. We can offer a well-functioning department that prioritizes collaboration, sparring, and shared learning highly.
There are a total of 10 employees in the payroll department, and you will report to the head of Payroll Service.
Your tasks will include:
- Processing of salaries, including gross salary lists
- Handling inquiries by phone and email
- Maintenance of employee master data
- Planning and execution of payroll runs, including ensuring timely and correct salary payments
- Participation in ongoing reporting of payroll data, including deviations
- Various administrative ad hoc tasks
We expect that:
- You have experience from a similar position
- You are familiar with various collective agreements and personal tax regulations
- You thrive with interdisciplinary tasks
- You have a good knowledge of Excel
- You are thorough and quality-conscious
- You can work independently
- You master Greenlandic and Danish in writing and speech
- You have a bachelor's degree or are office trained

About ASA
The Department of Economy and Personnel, commonly referred to as ASA, is a shared service unit for the Government of Greenland. ASA currently has about 120 employees and is responsible for accounting, procurement policy, collective agreement matters, salary payments, interpreting functions, and building operations.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
