The Department of Education, Culture, Sports and Church is seeking a financial consultant for the finance department. The position involves processing budgets, travel bookings, and grants, as well as developing budget and financial management. We are looking for a structured and collaborative colleague with relevant education and experience.

The Department of Education, Culture, Sports, and Church is seeking a new colleague for the finance department – a new colleague who can ensure good and structured processing of periodic budgets, travel bookings, and activity-dependent grants, while also further developing and continuously strengthening budget and financial management across the entire education, culture, sports, and church sector.

Your personal qualifications:
We are looking for a colleague who is professionally engaged and has the ability and desire to participate in collaborative teams that prioritize development. We are looking for you, who takes pride in delivering solid professional craftsmanship and approaches your tasks in a structured manner. Tasks that range widely from administration and operations to development.
We would like to see that:
- You have a relevant academy, vocational, or academic education, preferably in social sciences, business economics, or resource and financial management.
- You have experience from a similar position or from a position within the financial sector.
- You have an understanding of bookkeeping, finance, and statistical work.
- You have good knowledge of Greenlandic society and the public system in Greenland.
- You have good language skills, preferably Greenlandic and English.
- You are able to maintain an overview in a complex process.
Specific tasks:
- Processing of periodic budgets under activity area 40 in the finance act, including ongoing monitoring of consumption patterns in the activity area.
- The processing of, and development work with, activity-dependent grants to vocational schools.
- Travel booking responsible in the finance department.
- Controlling and accounting analysis across the entire education, culture, sports, and church sector.
- Providing consultancy assistance to a number of institutions based on the department's internal institutional authority.
- Individually or together with others in the team, conducting institutional visits to assist and advise institutional management in acute situations.
- Daily work with bookkeeping in IRIS.
- Contributing to the development and optimization of work processes.
- For academics; Processing of political decision proposals.
- Communication of departmental instructions and guidelines to subordinate operational units.
- Ad-Hoc finance, statistics, and accounting tasks.
The position offers the opportunity for influence, responsibility, and diverse tasks, as well as good collegiality and sparring.
Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
For the right qualified candidate with several years of experience, employment, after specific assessment, may occur on special consultant terms. If one is already a special consultant with several years of experience, one may, after specific assessment, be employed on chief consultant terms.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
