Leader of disability housing Saattut

The position as leader of the residential disability area in Eqqissisimaarfik, Saattut under Avannaata Kommunia Uummannaq is advertised for filling. The position is desired to be filled by September 15, 2026 or by further agreement.

The nearest supervisor is the department head in the Administration for Children and Family Uummannaq and the nearest employees are staff at the disability housing unit Saattut.

     The following responsibilities for the nearest staff include, among other things:

·Ensures that the department head is informed and updated regarding all relevant matters concerning the housing units.

·Ensures that solutions are proposed for issues arising in the housing units.

·Continuously informs about their contact with residents in the housing units and their nearest relatives, especially concerning the residents' well-being.

·Continuously informs about the content of staff meetings with employees in the housing units and ensures that feedback from the municipality's political and administrative management is communicated to employees in the housing units.

·Continuously informs about their collaboration with staff in other areas of the municipality related to the disability area (disability area and economic caseworkers) as well as external partners within interdisciplinary collaboration, including through regular meetings with the department head.

·Continuously informs about the status of expenses in the housing units and contributes to statistics in the disability institution area, including through regular reporting.

·Continuously informs about the most important issues concerning residents' funds and pocket money and informs how these issues have been addressed.

·Continuously informs about all complaints regarding care, nursing, and activities in the housing units and ensures that these are addressed as quickly as possible in collaboration with the department head and relevant staff in the municipality.

·Uses the on-call arrangement only in connection with serious illness among residents, acute crises, etc., and at all times after prior approval from the department head in the local social department based on a written, reasoned recommendation and for a maximum of 1 month at a time.

The position is desired to be filled with the following qualifications:

-Nurse, physiotherapist, health assistant, or similar.

-The administrative line from Aqutsisoq and theoretical management education.

-Experience from work in the disability area or in elderly care.

-Management experience.

-Psychologically robust

-Empathetic abilities.

-Good collaborative skills interdisciplinary.

-Role model according to decorum requirements.

-Good communication skills.

-Good at contacting residents, relatives, and staff.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between Naalakkersuisut and the negotiating organization at the time of commencement.

No staff housing can be provided.
