Position as leader for the leisure arrangement Nanoq in Paamiut

The leisure arrangement Nanoq is a care offer for children in 1st to 3rd grade after school hours and is normed for 60 children

The staffing norm is 6½ and is distributed as follows: leader, deputy, 2 child social assistants, 2 helpers, and additionally a cleaning assistant who works part-time daily

The leisure arrangement Nanoq is open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 16:30

and is located by the school "Tuiisaq"

The leader has working hours between 08:00 – 16:00, and has the option as needed from 07:30 – 15:30 or 08:30 to 16:30

Functions associated with the Leader position:

The leader is a sparring partner with the deputy and together must ensure compliance with the overall goals and objectives as well as guidelines for the pedagogical work is carried out in practice.

The leader is part of the staffing norm and carries out the general pedagogical work with parent cooperation, preparing action plans/activities

Requirements for the applicant are:

∙ that you must be pedagogically trained or have an equivalent education

∙ that you are responsible

∙ that you must have an overview

∙ that you must be creative

∙ that you must have the ability to empathize and adapt

∙ that you must be able to handle work in stressful situations

∙ that you must be flexible and cooperative, welcoming

∙ that you must be stable

∙ that you must be able to see opportunities rather than limitations

Area of responsibility:

∙ that you as a leader follow the political frameworks

∙ that you are obligated to comply with the institution's budget

∙ that you have the authority for the aforementioned units' funding area

∙ that you in collaboration with users, staff, and parents prepare objectives, action plans, and activity plans

Pedagogical work area:

∙ that you in close collaboration with the institution management carry out the law and guidelines for the pedagogical work

∙ that you ensure the leisure arrangement's pedagogical annual plan and values are implemented in practice

∙ that you participate or guide in solving collaboration problems between staff and parents

Administrative work area:

∙ daily operation of the institution

∙ ensure proper staff coverage in relation to staffing

∙ hold meetings with staff, users, and parents

∙ ensure to keep attendance records for each day for all users

Criminal and child certificate:

This position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal and child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon when the municipality has received the child certificate from the national police, as well as the criminal certificate from the police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, SIK or another relevant negotiating organization.

Employment will be with a 3-month probation period.

Housing

For the position, staff housing can be offered, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. are paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the Government of Greenland and the municipality's properties, etc. in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees with the right to temporary housing will be offered a temporary vacant housing, for which rent, utilities, etc. are paid according to the above. The start date is dependent on when there is staff housing available. A relocation travel and moving expenses are provided according to applicable rules.
