The laboratory at Ilulissat Regional Hospital handles blood sampling, microbiological analyses, and urgent laboratory tasks for both inpatients and outpatients. We have two standardized positions, of which at least one must be filled by an authorized bioanalyst who participates in on-call duty according to a schedule in connection with blood compatibility during surgeries.

We also have microbiological laboratory equipment, including PCR analyses.

Your tasks

You will among other things work with:

• Blood sampling and EKG recording on inpatients and outpatients
• Urgent analyses on POCT equipment
• Cultivation and resistance determination of urine samples
• Rapid typing and blood compatibility if needed for blood transfusion
• Analysis of samples, including PCR analyses
• Blood drawing and blood compatibility Ilulissat has an engaged donor corps that steps in as needed
• Guidance and support in the use of technical equipment
• Daily operations in the laboratory, including quality control and maintenance of equipment

About us:

Ilulissat Regional Hospital is a 6-doctor district with 5200 inhabitants, of which 4900 live in the town, the rest live in the 4 associated settlements, Saqqaq, Qeqertaq, Oqaatsut, and Ilimanaq.

The hospital is organized with 1 ward and an outpatient clinic with associated examination facilities.

The hospital handles tasks that primarily focus on public health with daily consultations, examinations, and treatment of patients, and where there is an attached ward with 23 bed spaces.

The working time norm in Greenland is 40 hours weekly, with duty every 2 weekends.

Salary and employment

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for recruitment and relocation, according to the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
