We are looking for 3 new colleagues with employment starting from January 2, 2027, February 1, 2027 or March 1, 2027 – or by agreement.

You will, in collaboration with your colleagues, be responsible for ward rounds in the inpatient wards, the intermediate unit, and the Patient Hotel, as well as manage outpatient work tailored specifically for you
• An 8-shift duty schedule with 24-hour shifts. As a doctor in an introductory position, you will be the personal doctor for patients with long-term courses, which gives you a meaningful and close relationship with these patients

About us:

• The Medical Department includes an outpatient clinic, an oncological day unit, an inpatient department with 26 beds, and a children's unit with 8 beds. We also have an intermediate unit with 8 beds and modern telemetry monitoring for patients with heart diseases and other acute conditions, which we use together with the surgical department.
• Patients from towns outside Nuuk are treated and investigated to a large extent at our Patient Hotel.
• You will meet engaged and professionally competent staff who are flexible and value good collaborative relationships and interdisciplinary work highly.
• We have a culture characterized by trust and respect, which is crucial for both everyday life and patient treatment. We believe that there should be a person behind the doctor's coat, and we have high ceilings.
• We receive patients from all over Greenland, and our doctors regularly participate in patient transports, where critically ill patients are flown from regional hospitals to Queen Ingrid's Hospital.

We are looking for you who:

• Can combine professionalism with humanity and have a good logistical sense
• Are flexible and ready to work in a department where things are not always as you know them – we rarely have a "usual". You should be motivated to plan individual and good patient courses
• Can quickly take responsibility, but at the same time never stand alone, as we have a strong collegial bond in the department as well as specialists at Rigshospitalet who are always a phone call away

About our hospital and Nuuk:

Queen Ingrid's Hospital in Nuuk is Greenland's largest and most specialized hospital. It serves as the country's main hospital. The hospital has many modern facilities and departments in areas such as medicine, surgery, and oncology, as well as advanced equipment for diagnostics and treatment. With a central role in the healthcare system, the hospital handles both acute and complex patient courses and collaborates closely with specialists from Denmark to ensure high quality in treatment. Nuuk is a city where urban life meets nature. Here you will find many dining options and cultural experiences, while you can quickly be out in the mountains or on the fjord. In summer, you can experience the midnight sun, and activities such as fishing, whale watching, and hiking are popular. In winter, the northern lights are part of everyday life, and you can enjoy both cross-country and alpine skiing.

Housing

Housing will be provided according to the rules applicable in the Greenlandic healthcare system at any given time.

Salary and employment

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Citizenship

If you are not a Nordic citizen, please note that employment is conditional on a valid residence and work permit. Residence and work permits can only be applied for upon agreed employment.
